Forklift Fuel System - The fuel systems job is to provide your engine with the gasoline or diesel it requires so as to function. If any of the fuel system components breaks down, your engine will not work right. There are the major parts of the fuel system listed under:
Fuel Tank: The fuel tank is a holding cell meant for your fuel. When filling up at a gas station, the fuel travels downward the gas hose and into your tank. Inside the tank there is a sending unit. This is what tells the gas gauge how much gas is in the tank.
Fuel Pump: In newer cars, the majority contain fuel pumps typically located inside the fuel tank. Many of the older automobiles would attach the fuel pump to the engine or located on the frame next to the tank and engine. If the pump is on the frame rail or within the tank, then it is electric and runs with electricity from your cars' battery, while fuel pumps which are attached to the engine utilize the motion of the engine so as to pump the fuel.
Fuel Filter: Clean fuel is very important for engine performance and overall engine life. Fuel injectors have tiny openings which could block effortlessly. Filtering the fuel is the only way this could be prevented. Filters could be found either after or before the fuel pump and in various instances both places.
Fuel Injectors: Most domestic cars after the year 1986, together with earlier foreign cars came from the factory with fuel injection. Instead of a carburetor to do the job of mixing the air and the fuel, a computer controls when the fuel injectors open to let fuel into the engine. This has resulted in lower emission overall and better fuel economy. The fuel injector is basically a tiny electric valve which opens closes with an electric signal. By injecting the fuel close to the cylinder head, the fuel stays atomized, or within tiny particles, and can burn better when ignited by the spark plug.
Carburetors: Carburetor work to be able to mix the air with the fuel without whichever computer intervention. These devices are somewhat easy to function but do require frequent tuning and rebuilding. This is one of the main reasons the newer vehicles on the market have done away with carburetors rather than fuel injection.
